After School Club.

We offer childcare from 3 until 5pm every week day during term time (with certain exceptions during the year). This gives the children the chance to spend time with either an after school playleader or a sports coach doing things that excite them.

Contact the school office for details of costs and how to make a booking.

Music.

Our peripatetic music teacher visits once a week and offers individual or group tuition in guitar, ukulele and brass.

Cooking.

We work with a local partner - The Kitchen Club - who give the children regular chances to learn how to cook proper meals from basic ingredients. Often these activities relate to the topic the children are studying (see the recipes for a "tudor feast" on the pupils page of the site).

Educational Visits.

The pupils benefit from a tremendous number and variety of visits to support their learning. Our PTA make a significant contribution every year to help finance these. Visits in recent times have included Stonehenge, Blists Hill Victorian village, STEAM, @Bristol and the Houses of Parliament.

School Council.

Three times a year a new School Council is elected. Elected representatives from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 join a pupil nominated from the infant class to form a body who discuss issues important to the pupils and lobby the leadership for change. They also arrange non-uniform days to support charities and meet Governors when they visit the school.

School Productions.

Each year just before the Christmas break, our two classes perform musical presentations for the community. The infant class perform a nativity and the juniors a musical version of a well known story (such as A Christmas Carol). In addition the children sing in church for festivals such as harvest and Easter. Learning lines and the lyrics for songs helps develop memory and performing on stage develops resilience and confidence.
