The School Day.

The school day starts with the morning bell at 08.40am (although the gates open at 08.30).  The children line up to wait for their teacher to take them into class. We welcome parents into the playground at the start of the day so that they can wait for the bell with their children and socialise with other parents.

Morning Session.

Morning registration is followed by worship either in the Junior or Infant classroom. Once a month we have worship in church which families are invited to attend. The first lesson of the day follows assembly with a 15 minute break for playtime at 10.30am. A piece of fruit or raw vegetable is provided to each infant child just after morning break (junior children bring in a piece of fruit or vegetable from home). For those children whose parents have opted into the scheme, milk is also provided. A further lesson leads up to lunch time at 11.45.

Lunch Time.

Children can either opt into the hot meal service or bring a packed lunch from home. Hot meals are brought in daily from a nearby school. Children eat in the classrooms, overseen by our lunchtime supervisors. Children are informed about healthy options for their lunch and in particular the need to eat five pieces of fruit or vegetable every day. The supervisor ensures that children eat their savoury food before moving on to their second course. Children say Grace every day and are encouraged to eat in a civilised and calm way.

Afternoons.

After lunch, the children have the benefit of playtime in the playground until 12.45 pm.  Two lessons usually follow without a break.

Home Time.

At 3.00 pm the children who are not staying for the after school club, collect their belongings and line up in the school playground. Each teacher is responsible for ensuring that children are passed into the safe custody of their parent or carer.
