At Southrop, we believe geography provides a purposeful platform for children to explore, appreciate and understand the world in which we live and how it has evolved. We make full use of resources within the immediate and wider local area, enabling children to develop a deep understanding of geography in their locality, as well as understanding the different ways in which people live around the world. We use the Kapow Geography scheme of work to deliver our vision for geography, alternating between history and geography topics each term. Our curriculum is enriched and supported by trips and fieldwork activities, such as visiting the Living Rainforest, Pittville Park in Cheltenham, or taking a guided walk around the village of Southrop.
