Art and DT
The National Curriculum for Art and Design aims to ensure that all pupils:
· Produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording experiences.
· Become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques.
· Evaluate and analyse creative works using the language of art, craft and design.
· Know about the great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical and cultural development of their art forms.
Artistic experiences. Each art topic taught in school is focused on one of several artistic styles. As such, each topic has a focus artist who is researched during the topic chosen based on the suitability of a style. We endeavour to give the children as many rich and diverse artistic experiences as possible for example visiting sculpture shows and encouraging local artists to work with and inspire us.
